I’ve gone a bit underground this summer, working on projects and avoiding the very hot weather. It’s been a challenging time in many respects, for not just me I am sure, but I wanted to share some updates and hopefully exciting news.
First and foremost, I am now looking at a Fall release date for my latest novel, The Haunted French Quarter Tour: A New Orleans Paranormal Mystery. This will be the fourth installment in The New Orleans Paranormal Mystery series and the first in around seven years.
For those unfamiliar with these books, my original idea was not to make a conventional series but rather have each novel told through the viewpoint of a very gifted family of psychics living in New Orleans. The first book, Gravier’s Bookshop, focused on Caroline Breslin, the eldest daughter, and the second, The Hotel Mandolin, was primarily Cassie Breslin’s book, the mother of Caroline and Jared. The third book in the series, The House at Pritchard Place, pivoted a bit and was told through the eyes of Cassie’s sister, Elise Ashford. All of these books were connected but not so heavily that you couldn’t jump around and read them out of order if you wanted.
The fourth novel, however, will break this mold somewhat. This book focuses on the younger son, Jared Breslin, but will be more heavily connected to previous books in the series. As a consequence, I have decided to put the entire New Orleans Mystery Collection on sale from $5.99 to $2.99 in the weeks leading up to the release of the new book so you can catch up on these ghostly tales. And I will be making the announcement when this is happening, so I hope you check it out.
This series and the Breslin family is a group dear to my heart, and I am very excited to bring this adventure with Jared in New Orleans’ historic French Quarter to fruition. There are quite a few ghostly surprises in store in this tale, and I think it will be an excellent way to put a pin in this long, hot summer.
Best Wishes to All,
Evelyn
